3-16-2008 I Strongly Dislike Apple
It's been building for a long while, but now I feel compelled to make it fully public.
Here are the reasons:
- Though Windows is a horrible OS, at least Microsoft doesn't lock you down completely to their own hardware. How would a hardware and software monopoly be an improvement over solely a software monopoly?
- The OSX desktop is ridiculously over-thought. I much prefer the Gnome and KDE desktops for Linux for their straightforward simplicity.
- Steve Jobs is more smug than anyone from Portland, Oregon, and that's saying a lot.
- Mac users. They tend to be very annoying, and minion-like, paying ridiculous amounts for whatever Apple belches out that month.
- Apple thinks they are a media company now. I think it a bad idea coupling software + hardware + media licensing all under one company. It creates a tightly coupled platform non-neutral mess.
- Apple ads are horrible.
- Bono apprears on an Apple ads. Bono appears to be a turd in elemental form.
- Feist appears on an Apple ad. Feist is talentless. This is not to say Bono has talent.
- An the most Zen-like: Apple only has meaning in relation to the crappiness of Microsoft, no innate meaning.
I shall now proceed to distribute "iFrigginStronglyDislikeApple" bumper stickers.

i refuse to go to vista. even with decent hardware it still runs very slow for my taste.
a see myself someone of a hypocrite for i used to be the beta OS nerd. I simply got tired of it.
i vow to use XP till i die. why? cause is fairly stable, limewire bought it for me (wink wink) and the biggest reason.........COMPATIBILITY with 99.9% of all businesses. I cant wait for Google to grow more. The future will be "ONLINE PORTALS"........
they offer basic spreads and docs, powerpoint, etc.....just like open office.
never again will i buy software....no need!!
for email i use gmail....
for web hosting - fatcow.......
for docs - adobe.......
for spreads.... (sorry eric-- excel)
for mp player.....I-pod...
so consider me a computer hoar.....a little bit of everything......
