Japanese privet (Ligustrum japonicum)
This tree is in our front yard.
It's a decent looking tree and I'd like to plant another, but I have no idea what it is. Neither do any of my neighbors... Update: Pinellas County Extension said it's a ligustrum or Japanese privet (Ligustrum japonicum). Lowe's and the local nursery sell it, and it's actually a kick-ass shrub you can prune into a tree. Costs about $7 for a 3 gallon shrub.
